For my out-of-town friends,  here are some events that Chicago has to offer over the weekend.  I will provide additional events and an itinerary as information becomes available.

 

Friday, July 13th

 Taste of Chicago: https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/taste_of_chicago.html/ Event is located t downtown at Grant Park (235 S. Columbus Dr) from 11 am to 9 pm, admission is free, food tickets can be purchased on site.

Black Star: https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/taste_of_chicago2.htmlThe concert is at the Petrillo Music Shell located downtown in Grant Park at 235 S. Columbus Dr. Concert starts at 5:30 pm, lawn seats are free.

Live Jazz @ Chant: https://www.chantchicago.com/music-schedule Chant is located at 1509 E. 53rd St. across the street from the Hyatt.

Outdoor House Music: Pier 31 Beachside Bar and Grill located at 3101 S Lake Shore Drive (31st St Beach) 6:00 pm, the event is free.

 

Saturday, July 14th

50th Birthday Fireworks Cruise:  7:30-11:00 pm

 

Sunday, July 15th

George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic: https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/taste_of_chicago2.htmlThe concert is downtown at the Petrillo Music Shell located in Grant Park at 235 S. Columbus Dr. Concert starts at 4:30 pm, lawn seats are free.

African Book Fair: Soulful Chicago Book Fair  A celebration of literacy and literary arts found throughout the African Diaspora. Located on E. 61st Street (from Cottage Grove to King Drive) from ten to eight pm.  Event is Free
